My name is Derek (I go by Naeolin when I talk about elfgames). This blog, like many found throughout the internet, is intended to be a platform for my musings on Tabletop Roleplaying Games, in particular games of the OSR/NSR persuasion. Don't worry if you don't know what that means. I basically like games where decisions matter and happen mostly during the game (as opposed to before or after). Games that emphasize problem-solving and exploration over optimization and the pursuit of a preordained story.

While I plan on putting many posts here of a theoretical nature, one of the things I hope to focus on is actually trying some of the great proposed ideas that can be found on other blogs that are focused on the same types of games as myself.
